Update 2/28/09: Thankfully, I have been offered the job that I was hoping for. For now, I am told that I will start around mid-April. I have not gotten all of the details of my employment yet, but I believe that it will be primarily weeknights and I will be able to handle most orders for the weekends. I am now accepting orders for all dates without restriction. If something were to arise regarding a date, I will contact customers individually. Thank you all again for your support and prayers through this transition. Katherine Quick Update: I recently had a very promising interview and could know something more definite by the last week in February, and potentially start at the end of March!!! Keep the orders coming, I'm doing all that I can this month. Update 1/11/09: I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year. Things here have not changed. My job will be ending on January 31st, and thus far I have no prospects for a replacement. With this information, I have decided to extend the current order period through the end of February. I would like to clarify that after the end of February, I will not be stopping the business. I am setting this date because I cannot guarantee dates past that time. I do not want to take an order for a specific date and then have to cancel in the event that I obtain employment that would require me to work that date. Katherine's Confections will continue on! At this time, I have started a wait list for orders needed after February 28th. I do not want to turn away customers, as I certainly may need the business to support my household in the interim. I thank you all for your kind words and concern, they have meant a lot. I will continue to keep you all informed if and when things change. Katherine Original Message: I know you all are being impacted by the state of our economy. Unfortunately it is hitting some of us harder than others. I have recently been informed that I will be losing my full-time job sometime in January, and I am letting you all know about this because I do not know how it will impact my business. At this time, I will not be accepting any orders beyond January since I have no idea what my situation will be by then. For anyone who has already placed an order after January, I will keep you informed and do everything in my power to keep this commitment to serving you. If you feel that you would be more comfortable cancelling an order, I would completely understand and fully refund any monies paid thus far. |
